About me!

* In Poland for nearly 5 years.
* I have worked with children for most of my adult life. Both with school aged kids and younger, down to 1 year old.

EXPERIENCE
• Catechism sessions (late teens, ~6 years): I led a small, parish group from the age of six onwards. This was my first experience with young children – a true learning curve as I transitioned into adulthood. Without a doubt, there was plenty of trial and error along the way
.
• University volunteering (during Pharmacy studies): I took part in a civic and sexual education project for public-school teenagers, engaging them through interactive, non-formal sessions. As preparation, we received scientific and pedagogical training and got the chance to work alongside an experienced educator.

• Study centres, Lisbon (~7 years): During Uni., I started tutoring children and teenagers one-on-one and in small groups, across subjects such as Maths, Natural Sciences, and English. Collaborated with experienced teachers and parents, learning how to identify children’s potential and needs, guiding them towards learning goals, while setting boundaries as well as offering lighthearted understanding.

• Forest kindergarten, Poland (volunteering, ~1 year): I worked with children aged 2–7 and gained experience in non-formal education informed by Montessori methods.

• Forest–Montessori kindergarten, Poland (~1,5 years full-time): I worked as an immersive English teacher and educator to children aged 3–6 in English, and supported nursery groups (ages 1.5–3). Additionally, I cared deeply about bridging the gap between their world and the idea of foreign languages and cultures.

• Nannying (past 2,5 years): I’ve been caring for children aged 1–5 from different families, both teaching English and stimulating their personal development through lots of play, conversation.

I’ve learned and continue to learn so much from collaborating with both experienced educators and innovative young colleagues. This has strengthened my motivation to guide children towards curiosity, independence, emotional awareness, and excitement for learning.

LANGUAGES
• I speak native Portuguese, fluent English (CPE), B2 Spanish, and I invest on developing my Polish (currently I speak A2/basic B1, I'm comfortable with general short conversations, and I understand much more than I speak).

INTERESTS & HOBBIES
• My hobbies have included sports and a lot of music. I was in an amateur choir for several years, which I loved. I have above basic vocal and music theory knowledge. Not only that, I enjoy playing badminton, playing boardgames, reading, going for walks, and I have the best time dancing Lindy Hop. These are some of the interests I can share with children.
