My name is Lakeisha Bakili, I am 23 years old. I recently graduated with a Bachelor’s in Nursing at WSEI University, I am a native English speaker as I come from Zimbabwe. I am a warm, dependable, and genuinely caring nanny who finds real joy in working with children and supporting their growth and development every day. For me, being a nanny is not just a job—it is a role that I take seriously and do with love, patience, and dedication. I believe that children thrive best in an environment where they feel safe, valued, and understood, and I always aim to create that kind of space for them.
I recognize that every child is different—some may be energetic and outgoing, while others may be more reserved or sensitive.
In my daily responsibilities, I assist with a wide range of tasks that contribute to a child’s well-being and development. This includes maintaining a clean and organized environment, helping with personal hygiene, and managing routines such as nap times, school preparation, and bedtime. I understand how important structure is for children, and I make sure to follow routines while also being flexible when needed.
I also enjoy planning and engaging children in meaningful activities that promote learning and creativity. Whether it is reading stories, drawing, singing songs, playing games, or spending time outdoors, I make sure that each activity is both fun and beneficial. I like to include simple educational elements in play, helping children develop their communication skills, confidence, and curiosity about the world around them. I believe that learning should be enjoyable, and I always encourage children to explore and express themselves.
Safety is always my top priority. I am responsible and quick to respond in any situation, and I always follow any guidelines or instructions given by parents. Parents can depend on me to be punctual, consistent, and respectful of their home and family values.

In addition to my experience in childcare and interest in pediatrics, I have developed a range of nursing-related skills that support me in providing safe, compassionate, and effective care. I have a good understanding of basic patient care, including assisting with personal hygiene, feeding, mobility, and maintaining comfort for individuals who require support.
I am attentive to detail and able to observe and monitor vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and respiration, as well as recognize any changes in a patient’s condition. I understand the importance of infection prevention and control, and I consistently follow proper hygiene practices, including handwashing, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a clean environment.
I am skilled in communication and documentation, ensuring that accurate information is shared with healthcare teams and family members. I work well both independently and as part of a team, always maintaining professionalism and respect.
I also bring strong emotional intelligence to my role, offering empathy, patience, and reassurance to patients, especially those who may feel anxious or vulnerable. I am able to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately in challenging situations.
